For the 2014 winter Holiday season, Vanessa Rodek and I were asked to think and design a greetings card to send to BBDO Proximity’s clients.

From the beginning, we had in mind to make a useful card which would step out and would leave behind the usual anecdotic Christmas card.

What could make this card be any useful? During this season there is something which has an important role in many people’s homes: the PRESENTS! So we decided that we would provide the receiver of this card with 5 gift wrapping papers in case of having forgotten to get some.

To present these papers, we designed an envelope-card which had some cut-out areas and would allow us to see the wrapping papers inside.

The blinking areas in the following image show the cut-out areas in the front side of the envelope-card.

These are the 5 chosen patterns featured on the wrapping papers. We counted with the support of Jurate Laugalyte in the pattern design stage.

The back of the envelope-card contained the best wishes message and featured a QR code which leaded the user to a microsite where it would be possible to print more wrapping papers at home.
